About the Vienna Constables

You are currently visiting the homepage of the Austrian Flag Football Team the VIENNA CONSTABLES.  We are a Viennese-based team, which was founded in 1997. In 2001 we entered into the newly formed Austrian Flag League (now renamed Flag League Austria - FLA) and haveparticipated every year since then.

We won the league in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2018 which makes us a four-time national champion team, coming in at second and third place many times over the years. A big step forward was taken 2013 when the FLA2 team was set up to be ready for future challenges and 2015 when our womens team was set up. Our homepage is not yet available in two languages but we would be happy to answer your questions about concerning playing flag football our team or taking part in another way.

Our practice field is located at PSV-Platz, Dampfschiffhaufen 2, 1220 Vienna.

Vienna Constables Teams:

Since 2014 members of the club find their places in three different teams.

The FLA team fought for national championship glory in the highest domestic league (Flag League Austria). If you are interested in taking part, you should be athletic and willing to practice twice a week with one weekly training session the whole year long. Gamedays will be held in Vienna, Lower Austria, Graz and Linz.

In a ddition to this we also have a team in the second level of Austrian Flag Football, where it is also possible to train twice a week between March and October. So if you want to experience flag football without having any prior football knowledge you're more then welcome here. Of course a football background is ok too and if you just want to invest one time a week. Gamedays will be held in Vienna, Lower Austria, Graz and Innsbruck.

Since 2015 we also have an all-female league - the Flag Liga Ladies. Practice times are basically the same like in our FLA Team. Our ladies also play in the highest domestic league (Flag League Ladies) for a national championship.

We also have a youth program, so please contact us if you are between 10 and 17 years old. We're one of the first Austrian flag football teams to go in this direction and develop their future starters from within! Our junior teams well be taking part in the FLJ - the Flag Liga Juniors (U13, U15, U17).

Last but not least the Vienna Constables are going to take part in the so-called Flag 4 Fun (F4F) league, which is a series of non-league one-day tournaments. This consists of a mixture of alumnis, who don't have much time to spend on training, friends who join in from time to time, and first-timers play together without much training beforehand.

Season (for all teams) usually starts in April/May, culminating in the Flag Bowl - the final for the national championship, which is traditionally on the first weekend of October. All gamedays are on weekends with about three games on one gameday (1 game lasts 2x 20min, which translates to approx. 60-70min/game overall).
